Westfield Local Heroes

Vote Kris Angelovski (Barwon Valley School) to win!!!

Westfield Local Heroes is a new community recognition and grants program, connecting and enriching communities.

Individuals are nominated and voted for by their communities, with three finalists per Westfield Living centre each awarded a $10,000 grant to support their affiliated organisation’s work, programs or activities.

Westfield Local Heroes discovers and celebrates individuals who promote social wellbeing and/or harmony in our communities through their work, programs or activities, across one or more of the three social values of Family, Youth Opportunity and Inclusion.

Kris and the Teamworx program hve been shortlisted into the final six. We need your help to make him a winner! The $10,000 grant will be put towards extending the program and to purchase resources for the group to use.

Kris and the students enjoy gardening - cultivating herbs, flowers and using basic woodworking skills to repurpose wooden pallets into shelving. During the festive season special Christmas trees were constructed and sold to staff and parents. The group recently set up a pop up shop to sell plants, stands and decorated pots to the school community for Mother’s Day.

How can you help?
